DAVID SILVERMAN

EXPERIENCE & AREAS OF FOCUS

Mr. Silverman graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Northridge in 1978 and subsequently earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, CA in 1982. From 1982 to 1983 he was an Associate Attorney for a Los Angeles Creditor's Rights law firm, Lederer & Kotler. He opened The Silverman Law Firm in December, 1983 focusing on commercial litigation, retail and commercial collections, business counseling, real estate law and conflict resolution.

In 1995, Mr. Silverman expanded the Silverman Law Firm to Colorado, focusing on the rights of creditors representing large banking and financial institutions and becoming heavily involved in the retail collection industry growing the firm to over fifty (50) employees with offices in three (3) states Colorado, California and Wyoming.

Mr. Silverman was the owner of The Silverman Law Firm from its inception in 1983 until merging with Irv Borenstein to create Silverman/Borentein PLLC in 2010. Mr. Silverman has represented clients in civil matters in both federal and state courts. He has appeared before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals en banc which resulted in a favorable opinion published as National Labor Relations Board vs. FMG Industries dba Gamco Industries, And Galaxie Universal Corp., Inc., Respondents, 820 F.2d 289 (1987).

Mr. Silverman served two (2) terms on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA) the premiere trade association for Creditor Rights Counsel. He has been published in the Washington Journal and the Commercial Law Bulletin, has been a contributing author to the original publication of State FDCPA Laws and How They Now Apply To Creditors as well as being a convention chair and speaker at NARCA conferences.

Mr. Silverman has served as Judge Pro Tem in Municipal and Small Claims Court.
